چکیده
Global warming has accelerated during the past decades, causing a dramatic shrinking of glaciers across globe. So far, attempts to counterbalance glacial melt have proven be inadequate and are mostly limited few landscapes only. In present study, scientific glacier protection experiment was conducted at Dagu Glacier site. Specifically, study site No. 17, situated 4830 m a.s.l. The involved deliberate verification feasibility effectiveness using geotextile covers on small located high altitudes between August 2020 October 2021. observations revealed that mass loss in area covered with geotextiles was, average, 15% lower (per year) compared uncovered areas combining field campaigns, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial vehicle. reason for this could albedo is higher than surface. addition, aging causes decline their albedo, leading gradual resulting protection. It indicated effective facilitating mitigation ablation, although cost-related limitations render it difficult upscale use artificial cover. Nonetheless, active cover case glaciers, landscapes, terminus regions.

Cortical Thickness of Native Tibetans in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE High-altitude environmental factors and genetic variants together could have exerted their effects on the human brain. The present study was designed to investigate the cerebral morphology in high-altitude native Tibetans. MATERIALS AND METHODS T1-weighted brain images were obtained from 77 Tibetan adolescents on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (altitude, 2300-5300 m) and 8...
متن کاملMapping risk of plague in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China
BACKGROUND Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau of China is known to be the plague endemic region where marmot (Marmota himalayana) is the primary host. Human plague cases are relatively low incidence but high mortality, which presents unique surveillance and public health challenges, because early detection through surveillance may not always be feasible and infrequent clinical cases may be misdiagnosed. ...
متن کاملOccurrence of perfluorinated compounds in fish from Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.
Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) were found in fish muscle collected from high mountain lakes in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the highest and biggest plateau on Earth. In 96% of the total fifty-nine fish samples were found detectable perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) as prominent PFCs, while only three for perfluorooctanoate (PFOA). The mean PFOS concentrations in fish muscle ranged 0.21ng/g-5.20...
متن کاملEvolutionary diversifications of plants on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau
The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP) is the highest and one of the most extensive plateaus in the world. Phylogenetic, phylogeographic, and ecological studies support plant diversifications on the QTP through multiple mechanisms such as allopatric speciation via geographic isolation, climatic oscillations and divergences, pollinator-mediated isolation, diploid hybridization and introgression, and ...
متن کاملShiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli in Plateau Pika (Ochotona curzoniae) on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) are an emerging group of zoonotic pathogens. Ruminants are the natural reservoir of STEC. In this study we determined the prevalence and characteristics of the STEC in plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China. A total of 1116 pika samples, including 294 intestinal contents samples, 317 fecal samples, and 505 intestinal...
